IMAGINE NO BULLIES!
Every day in Canada, children face cruel treatment at
the hands of their peers
This treatment often involves taunting, physical
aggression, and isolation - and these bullying
behaviours are often dismissed as normal and
harmless.
Bullying poisons the entire community and therefore
the responsibility for creating safe environments for our
youth rests with all of us.
The Canadian Red Cross is working to stop bullying
through Beyond the Hurt, which teaches victims and
bystanders how to respond and react in bullying
situations.
Financial support is needed to expand Red Cross
bullying prevention education in Southern
Saskatchewan.
Red Cross has launched the “Imagine...No Bullies”
Appeal to raise $100,000 to expand bullying prevention
education in southern Saskatchewan and reach an
additional 1500 youth this year.
Teamwork is the key to this approach. The Red Cross
will train “Bully Prevention Teams” in schools or
districts that will consist of a teacher, administrator, two
or three youth and a parent or community member.
Each team will receive extensive training in Beyond the
Hurt – as well as the tools, resources and support
needed to deliver the program.
